4. Web analytics
a) Cookieless Tracking
The websites testit.de, Preisvergleich.at, Preisvergleich.ch, LesComparatifs.fr, Confronti.it and pveu.com use a proprietary web analytics service. This service does not use any personal data. No data is read from or stored on the website visitor's device. The website visitor's IP address is anonymised. Recognition of the website visitor beyond the website is not possible. No cookies are set; any existing cookies are technically necessarily transmitted but are also not used. The web analytics service enables the website operator to capture and analyse the use of the website by visitors. The website operator receives various usage data, such as usage time, page views, time spent on pages, operating systems used, or screen resolutions. It is also possible to capture whether website visitors perform certain actions such as clicks or purchases.
The anonymised analytics data is transferred from this server to the web analytics service Google Analytics without using any personal data of the website visitor and is typically stored on a Google server in the USA. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Profiling or linking with other sources is not possible with this anonymised analytics data. More information about how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google's Privacy Policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en
b) Google Analytics
For the purpose of demand-oriented design and continuous optimisation of our pages, we use Google Analytics on the website pveu.com, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (https://www.google.com/intl/en/about/) (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; hereinafter “Google”).
Google processes the website usage data on our behalf and is contractually committed to measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the processed data.
During your website visit, the following data, among others, is recorded:
- Pages visited
- Orders including revenue and products ordered
- Achievement of “website goals” (e.g. contact enquiries and newsletter sign-ups)
- Your behaviour on the pages (e.g. time spent, clicks, scrolling behaviour)
- Your approximate location (country and city)
- Your IP address (in truncated form, so that unique identification is not possible)
- Technical information such as browser, internet provider, device, and screen resolution
- Source of your visit (i.e. which website or advertising medium brought you to us)
Personal data such as name, address, or contact details is never transmitted to Google Analytics.
This data is transferred to Google servers in the USA. We point out that the same level of data protection as within the EU cannot be guaranteed in the USA.
Google Analytics stores cookies in your web browser for a period of two years from your last visit. These cookies contain a randomly generated user ID that allows you to be recognised on future website visits.
The recorded data is stored together with the randomly generated user ID, which enables the evaluation of pseudonymous user profiles. This user-related data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Other data remains stored in aggregated form for an unlimited period.
If you do not agree with the data collection, you can prevent it by installing the browser add-on to disable Google Analytics once, or by rejecting cookies via our cookie settings dialogue.
Further information on data protection in connection with Google Analytics can be found, for example, in the Google Analytics Help ( https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en).
c) Google Tag Manager
Preisvergleich Europe GmbH uses the Tag Manager of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Tags are identifiers for data elements. Tracking pixels from third-party providers mentioned here are loaded onto the websites. The Tag Manager tool itself (which implements the tags) is a cookie-free domain and does not collect any personal data. The tool triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. Google Tag Manager does not access this data. For further information, please visit: https://www.google.com/intl/en/tagmanager/faq.html and https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy.
5. Cookies
We use cookies on our website pveu.com. Cookies do not cause any damage to your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.).
a) Session Cookies
We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your device by the internet browser you use. Through these cookies, certain information about you is processed to varying extents, such as your browser or location data or your IP address.
This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective, and secure, as the processing enables, for example, the display of our website in different languages or the provision of a login function.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit b.) DSGVO, insofar as these cookies process data for the initiation or performance of a contract.
If the processing does not serve the initiation or performance of a contract, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. The legal basis is then Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f) DSGVO as well as your voluntarily given consent pursuant to Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a) DSGVO.
These session cookies are deleted when you close your internet browser.
b) Third-party cookies
Where applicable, cookies from partner companies with which we cooperate for the purposes of advertising, analytics, or website functionality may also be used on our website.
For details, in particular regarding the purposes and legal bases for the processing of such third-party cookies, please refer to the following information.
c) How to remove cookies
You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by adjusting your internet browser settings. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored at any time. The steps and measures required for this depend on the specific internet browser you use. If you have any questions, please use the help function or documentation of your internet browser, or contact its manufacturer or support.
However, preventing or restricting the installation of cookies may result in not all functions of our website being fully usable.
6. Social media plug-ins
We use social plug-ins on our website on the basis of Art. 6 Abs. 1 S. 1 lit. f DSGVO to increase the visibility of our company. The underlying promotional purpose is to be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the DSGVO. The responsibility for data-protection-compliant operation is to be ensured by the respective provider. We integrate these plug-ins using the so-called two-click method in order to best protect visitors to our website.
YouTube
We use, among others, the provider YouTube for embedding videos. YouTube is operated by YouTube LLC with its principal place of business at 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. YouTube is represented by Google Inc. based at Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
On some of our web pages, we use plugins from the provider YouTube. When you visit web pages of our website that are equipped with such a plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established and the plugin is displayed. This transmits to the YouTube server which of our web pages you have visited. If you are logged in as a YouTube member, YouTube associates this information with your personal user account. When using the plugin, e.g. clicking the start button of a video, this information is also associated with your user account. You can prevent this association by logging out of your YouTube user account and other user accounts of YouTube LLC and Google Inc. before using our website and by deleting the corresponding cookies of these companies.

11. Data security
When visiting our website, we use the widely adopted SSL (Secure Socket Layer) method in conjunction with the highest level of encryption supported by your browser. This is generally 256-bit encryption. If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can tell whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed padlock or key icon in the lower status bar of your browser.
We also employ appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction, or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
